Anyone tried RH recently? I am getting bounce backs from the email address on their website.

Hi!
Can anyone tell me if they sent an American style query letter (with more of a book blurb than a synopsis) or a more formal British style letter to this agent? I think my MS might be more suited to a British agent but I'm never sure if I should be appraoching them differently.

Possibly the sweetest rejection ever:

"Thanks for the material. You and your book seem absolutely marvellous and, though unfortunately we are unable to represent you ourselves, I think other agents will be interested and I do wish you the best of luck elsewhere."

EQ 24/01/2012 Historical Fiction
Request for full 24/01/2012

Personalised rejection 06/02/2012:
'Thanks for this. I thought it was extremely well done. In the end I had to reluctantly conclude that we had our hands full with our current list of historical fiction authors, but I am sure other agents will be in a different position and I wish you the very best of luck elsewhere'

Nice feedback and prompt responses, a pleasure to deal with him.

"I thought this exceptionally well done. This wouldn't be a good fit for our agency at present, but I think other agencies will be very keen and rightly so. I wish you the very best of luck elsewhere."

It was a very nice R though. Said my premise is interesting just not for their agency, but to keep sending out as it should drawn interest.
