Reply 4 mos. after submission, form letter saying sorry it took so long but (same as letters below, not confident they can sell it). Said I could keep querying him.

On the children’s side, John is keenly interested in middle-grade and young adult fiction and would love to find the next great picture book author/illustrator. For adults, he is actively looking for narrative nonfiction, especially in music, sports, history, popular science, “big think”, performing arts, health, business, memoir, military history, and humor.

FYI Dystel Goderich & Bourret does not allow you to query another agent at the agency after you have been rejected by one of them. A rejection by one is a rejection by all. I recommend waiting to query them until you 100% sure you have a winning query letter and a solid submission and then sending to your top pick, because you only shot with them.

Thank you for letting me review your query. Unfortunately, I don't believe that we are the appropriate agents to represent this material. In this very competitive market, we are simply not enthusiastic enough about our ability to sell this work to offer you representation.
We wish you the best of luck placing this successfully. Thank you, once again, for letting us consider it.
Best regards,
John Rudolph

To anyone who has gotten a full request from him, did you receive confirmation that he got it? I never did so I nudged a month later saying no rush on reading but I wanted to make sure he got it. No response to that either.
