Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Leave comments about your experiences with this literary agent, or read what other authors have to say.

Rejection was so impersonal that he didn't even write anything aside from "Dear First Name Last Name". Not even a form reject. Haha. Rejections from agents are just getting funnier and funnier. UPDATE: Got a repeat rejection with a form letter today, a week after the first. Had he read it he would have realized that he already rejected me. C'est la vie.

"Thank you for letting me review your query. Unfortunately, I don't believe that we are the appropriate agents to represent this material. In this very competitive market, we are simply not enthusiastic enough about our ability to sell this work to offer you representation.

We wish you the best of luck placing this successfully. Thank you, once again, for letting us consider it.

Best regards,

John Rudolph"

Nice enough, but pretty form saying they aren't passionate enough about this type of work to sell it.

It's my first rejection on my first work -- so I'm glad to get over that hurdle.
