noidorian, I couldn't find anything else either, so I sent the letter and synopsis and first chapter, all pasted in the email.

Does Mr. Malk require what's listed on the Writer's House submissions page (query letter and synopsis) or does he have different guidelines? Can't find anything more specific anywhere.

@skifast Hey! His assistant responded to my query with a full request really fast (an hour later), and I sent the ms just yesterday night; she emailed me a confirmation the next day and said she'd be in touch after they reviewed the ms. Though I don't know his general response time (but I will be updating), Mr. Malk and Ms. Courtney Longshore seem to reply pretty fast to their emails if they're interested. :) Hope that helps!

Has anyone heard back from him on a full lately? I'm wondering what his general response time is.

Picture Book manuscript
Fast form rejection from assistant, Courtney Longshore

"Thank you for your thoughtful email. After careful consideration, Mr. Malk is unable to offer representation at this particular time. I should note that his current list is such that he is extremely busy and not actively seeking new clients, which played a large part in the decision.
Thanks again for the opportunity, and we wish you the best finding the right home for your work. "

Very nice refusal. His current list is such that he is extremely busy and not actively seeking new clients.

Also, does anyone know the last time he did offer rep to someone?

Does anyone know if any of his assistants ever decide to offer to rep a MS he has rejected? Like, Steve says no & then they offer to rep?

From his assistant, Courtney, who was nice enough to personalize the rejection.

"Thank you for your thoughtful query. This is a compelling concept and your work promises to explore an incredibly fascinating world with diverse characters. These great elements considered, Mr. Malk does not feel your work is the right fit for him at this time. I should note that his current list is such that he is extremely busy and not taking on anything he can even possibly resist at this time, which played the biggest part in his decision."

Maybe! It's usually a separate category though (when I search for agents here that represent PB, he doesn't show up). Or "Children's" might just meant chapter books.

Doesn't "children's" include PB?
