From the agent: If you were caught up in the crossover from my older system via direct email and haven't yet received a reply, please resubmit via Query Manager.

To follow up on what MAMdebut said, and for dfair07 & nesswriting: I emailed Mr. Carr directly – I submitted to him via email before the switchover, promptly fell very ill, and am just today cleaning up my query list – and he replied shortly thereafter saying to submit via Query Manager. Hope that helps!

dfair07, Michael Carr has a high reply rate and is orderly in his approach to replies, so if you've given it a generous amount of time (eight weeks?) you might consider politely following up with him and briefly explain what happened. Patrick McDonald, who runs QueryTracker suggested this in a comment recently for those of us caught in a similar situation with another agent switching to QueryManager due to problems with her agency's online form.

I too sent an email query just as Mr. Carr was switching to QT and question whether my historical narrative fell through the cracks. You work so hard and long and can’t even tell if your work was received.

I queried Michael by email very shortly before he switched to QM and didn't receive a response. Wondering if it's worth a re-query?

For what it's worth, if you've written something that you think might interest Michael, you should absolutely query him. He read my manuscript earlier this year, and while he ultimately passed, he gave both (very) detailed feedback for why he passed and was quite encouraging to boot. He was also incredibly responsive during the entire process, which is a feat and no mistake given how busy he is. A class act in all regards.

"Thank you for your query. Unfortunately, it's not quite what I'm looking for at this time, so I will have to pass. I encourage you to continue querying with the hopes of finding the right agent for your project."
