Well, out of 244 subs to Andrea Brown herself, Data Explorer shows 1 full and 1 partial request.

Has anyone received a request from this agency? It almost seems like a black hole. Not sure that agency form thing is very efficient.

The submission guidelines page on this Agent's website stated an auto-response email would be generated upon emailing them when entering the term "QUERY" (later written as "Query") into the subject line. This did not happen. I sent three emails in total alternating capitalization and such. I never received a response, automated or otherwise. I ultimately gave up, figuring I was just bothering them at that point. I am unsure if the emails ever reached them or not. Very frustrating.

For those c/o not receiving the automated ack, or better yet the rejection, try this, get a rejection, and to keep your foot in the door sent a polite "Thank you" not big deal and does not cost anything to be nice. then get the same rejection, word for work to your thank you note.
that tells me that the only one reading the EQ is the computer, not a human in the chain.

On Twitter it was announced that intern Jason Gallaher, @JasonGallaherLA, is now promoted to assistant.

EQ April 21, received automated message:
"Dear Author,

Thank you for your email.

Because of the high volume of queries we receive, we are unable to respond to every query.

If we are interested in your work, we will certainly follow up by email or phone. However, if you haven't heard from us within 6 to 8 weeks, please assume that we are passing on your project.

We do understand and appreciate the effort that goes into getting your work out, and we wish we had time to respond personally to all submissions. Unfortunately, this is no longer a business reality.

Wishing you the best,

Andrea Brown Literary Agency"

I never received the automated message either wordrendezvous, I don't really know what to do now. Maybe there is a glitch with their system?

I sent a query out to one of their agents but never received the automated response noting they have received it. Does anyone know if they are delayed or maybe I should resend my query?

I'm not sure what to do because it says I should receive one if I put "Query" in the subject line of my email.

website says you can try again if you modify your work significantly after six months. That's a pretty nice policy, and it probably helps them b/c ppl can get feedback from other agents/beta/crit groups, modify the work and submit a better version. The agency's rep definitely helps if an author was deciding between a couple different offers.
