@Wimoon When requests from an agent come significantly later than rejections on average (11 days in this case) it usually means either the agent has a reader who weeds out the manuscripts they're sure will get rejected anyhow, or the agent sets aside those queries where they're interested in reading the pages.

In this case I'd say she doesn't have a reader (even quick rejections take a long time) but she does set aside the queries where she's interested in reading the pages. So, it's a good thing if your rejection takes longer. At least it means you made it a little further in the process.

Edit: got a form rejection 148 days after querying. No idea what went on there.

I know she says she's behind, but I sent a query at the start of May and still no response. She said she replies to all but I have a feeling I've been missed as lots of people after me have had replies. I even sent a chaser at the end of July! A shame because I thought she was a great fit. :(

From her Twitter on 8/27

"Hello, #querying authors! I am sorry to say that I am behind on queries, and especially on requested material. My goal is to return to this section of my inbox in mid-September. Thank you so much for your patience."
