Very odd little form, not well suited to querying novel-length fiction but oh well.

His personal email:

Thank you very much for giving me the chance to consider the novel. Ultimately, I do not think it is right for my list, so I’m going to step aside. I wish you the best of luck finding the right home for it.

I'm sad that it was a rejection, but at least he was quick and I really appreciated that.

AKH, CNR does means that he didn't respond to your query after the response time ended, and/or to your nudge. He's not interested. But since you got a response from him, he's interested in your story though. I waited three months to hear from him for both mss, and then I nudged him and waited two weeks with no reply. I didn't get the same response as you did in 2011. I have tons of CNR from other agents on this website and from the Guide of Literary Agents, too.

Can you tell me what CNR, Closed No Response means? Does that mean you never heard back from him after submitting your mss??

His email reads: "Thanks for your note. I'd be interested in considering the manuscript. Why don't you send as an attachment and I'll try to get you a response at the earliest. Best, Andrew."

Nice going Akh129. I've gotten a CNR from him on both of my mss in 2011.
