I suspect a form rejection, but still a helpful rejection. Said they liked the concept of my story, just didn't fall in love with the voice of the writing sample. Encouraged me to query others.

Fast, which I appreciate. Liked the writing, not the concept. She was specific.

Received a helpful / personalized form letter 14 days after submitting the query. This rejection is specific enough to be helpful. My book is adult fantasy but not paranormal or the specific subgenres she lists on her website, so it looks like she is tightly focused on certain subgenres within fantasy.

"Thank you for your query regarding your book [title redacted]. I read your letter with interest and certainly thought there was a great deal to recommend the project. Ultimately, though, I'm afraid I have to pass. The work sounded intriguing, but I felt it seemed a bit outside my wheelhouse and so, I wouldn't be the best-suited agent for it. This is no reflection on the quality or potential of the book.

I appreciate you thinking of me with your work, and sincerely wish you every success with this, and all of your writing endeavors."

Very helpful personalized rejection. She took the time to comment on pros and cons . Her comments are very helpful. I Tweeted her a thank you for taking the time to comment. I don't think agents bother to comment unless they see potential in an author's writing. She replied to my Tweet within minutes. In part, her reply read, "I do want to encourage you and hope you’ll use my notes to study and find examples of how other writers do the things I bring up." I think she's a fine agent and that it is well worth building a relationship with her.

A polite rejection from Tia Mele (Jr Agent/Assistant) - I appreciate the honest feedback!

Thank you for submitting XX to Talcott Notch. Unfortunately, we are going to pass on this project. The story sounds interesting with a strong hook. However, we found the sample pages didn't draw us in as much as we hoped, and that is why we ultimately decided to pass. We wish you the best of luck in finding representation in the future.
