I recently did an in-person pitch to this agent at a lit conference. And the experience? Not the best. I told her about my book, she asked me for comps, gave me a little smile then immediately asked me if I had questions. Rather than tell me something like "I wouldn't be the best representative for your work" or something similar, she let her silence speak for her. This has never happened to me before and it was extremely disconcerting. She might work for some people, but most assuredly not for me.
