Ouch! And I was totally fan girl crushing on her.

Got a nice form rejection, but I totally deserved to be rejected. I had a headache yet still insisted on changing my query letter and sending it to her, even though I should have waited until I could think straight. It was awful and I knew it the minute I hit "submit". Why isn't there an "I'm an idiot" button that lets you erase your submission? ;)

I queried this agent knowing that my manuscript wasn't exactly what she's looking for, but I still wanted to reach out to her because I really admire her agenting style. I got a rejection about 12 hours later, but the form letter was very encouraging. I really appreciated the fast response and encouragement!

Jessica's rejection email/letter was very polite and encouraging. In fact, although she did not feel that my query suited her, she encouraged me to further review the agency's submissions page to see if another agent in her agency might be better suited. This may be a form letter - and this suggestion may be given to many. Never-the-less, I found it encouraging.
