Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Leave comments about your experiences with this literary agent, or read what other authors have to say.

June 2015 I queried her with WF. I think it was a week or so later she responded with a R&R. I worked for five months revising with her suggestions in mind, even hired an editor to help. Finally, in October 2015, I sent requested revised ms. January 2016, I gently nudged. She responded that she'd not had a chance to read my work, mostly due to not having an assistant. This agent has been popping up in my dreams, so I'm still hoping she'll take the time to revisit my work. Otherwise, I guess this will be a CNR...

With Liz's help I went through two revisions (first for length; second development edit by freelance editor); lots of great feedback; in the end it was a pass but she was incredibly generous throughout the whole process and included a referral to another agent in the rejection.

The request actually came from A. Austin on behalf of Elizabeth. Most likely her assistant.

@VonAngel, thank you! It's nice to have a bit more information, even though in the end, it doesn't really mean anything until you get a request. :)

@Nani: Hmm, per Data Explorer, she's rejected queries prior to yours as recent as last week. I'm not at all suggesting yours will be rejected but that it looks like she's skipping around her inbox; there doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason to it. And if I'm interpreting one of her tweets correctly, she's a little backed up but will eventually get to the queries.

Generic reply, but it was much more polite and positive than most of the others I've received.

Seems genuinely nice and helpful.

I received a thoughtful letter from this agent. In contrast to too many other literary agents, she responded promptly, clearly stating that my novel, Shadows Walking, would not be "right for her at this time." While I am disappointed, I want to commend her and regret that we will not benefit from further association.
