ER: 4/15/18 (IDK if a query R&R is a thing, haha, but I received one.) Kind, personalized rejection. Said she loved my pitch and invited me to resubmit based on some suggestions she made regarding overwritten descriptions.

Resubmitted after trimming the description in my pages. Received another kind rejection letter that said she still thought it was too wordy. Proves how subjective this business is as I have 18 other agents looking at partials and fulls (so fingers crossed!). I do feel the edits made my pages strong so overall, as positive an experience as possible. Best of luck guys!

Thank you so much for writing me about your manuscript. I read each query I receive carefully, and I'm sorry to say that I'm not quite the right fit for yours. I do appreciate that you thought of me and wish you the very best luck finding the ideal agent for your work.

From her twitter:
"My queries are heaving with time travel projects. I get it, I get it, we'd all like to escape from 2018. But writing good time travel is hard, folks."
Update: "Totally agree (cf. @heidiheilig's THE GIRL FROM EVERYWHERE). But it's HARD to do time travel well."

Molly also gave advice to me on the industry expectations when you get an offer and how much time you should give agents to read which was really helpful and going well out of her way to help me!

Full Request: 7/21
Offer of Rep: 8/03—yay!

Molly is smart, personable, well-read, and has a great sense of humor. She's spent time on the editorial side of publishing and brings that expertise to her work with clients, which is a big plus in my book.
