Jennifer sent me a personal and encouraging rejection. She seems like a really great person and I bet she is a wonderful agent. She also really loves her doggos, which is a great character trait.

Thank you so much for sharing TITLE OF WORK with me! I found your story to be very strong, and it drew me in right away. You have talent, but unfortunately, I didn’t fall completely in love with it in the way that I need to in order to request more. I do want you to know that it was very hard for me to pass on this project, and I’m certain it will find the right home soon. Should it not, however, I would love to see future work from you (you can use the same link as before). I wish you the best of luck on your writing journey, and I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines!

"Thank you so much for sharing [TITLE] with me. Though I think you have an interesting story here, I didn't quite fall in love with it in the way that I need to in order to request more. In this subjective industry, I'm sure another agent will feel differently, and I wish you the best of luck on your writing journey."

EQ 5/11 #dvpit request YA fantasy with MG appeal
Nudge 6/22 per agency guidelines to do so after 6 weeks
ER 7/9/18

Jennifer was very kind and insightful in her reply. She explained that she took so long because she set my pages aside for more detailed reading, then went on to explain why she feels my book is more suited for MG than YA, and invited me to submit a partial of 100 pages should I make the appropriate revisions.
