6/26/2020: Query sent via terrible online form that removes all formatting -- they request the first three chapters along with your query

I agree with other comments here; the contact form is not set up well for queries; you'd think that an agency with JRA's reputation would have a better form that would hold the writing sample's format.

95k domestic thriller

This is my first time querying through a form. It wipes all your formatting when you paste text in, so fingers crossed my reformatting didn't ruin everything.

Because this agency has a poorly crafted query form, I decided not to submit. My upmarket women's fiction novel has a unique structure and format, and I don't have the hour it would take to re-format my work. It's sad to me that so many literary agencies are behind the curve in terms of web technology. Patrick's Query Manager form retains the formatting fairly well, although I do have to go in and re-work a number of things. But this agency's Web site's form simply destroys my content's very carefully formatted structure. Not going to bother with this one. Besides, they say submit to ONE agent, and they'll pass it around. Sure they will.

Totally messed up the formatting and forgot to include my synopsis, so I don't have high hopes for this one.

Submitted, but not feeling too good about it. That contact form as a way of querying is terrible. It wouldn't hold the formatting of my story, so it's all jammed together.

I'm wondering about her query form. Did anyone else find it really difficult to use? I'm wondering if she just threw my query out because I couldn't comply with the submission guidelines. It was hard to put the first 3 chapters and a synopsis in the message box of her contact form. I feel like I did it wrong...
