Email Query: 22 February
Full Request: 23 February
Notification of Offer of Representation: 16 June
Coming-of-Age, 89k

When she requested, she asked me a follow-up question regarding something I mentioned toward the end of my query. So for those who speculate on whether or not agents actually read the entire query, that might be a helpful data point. Will update on whether or not I get a response after notification of offer of representation.

@HiggiKai, this is not insight into Laura’s process specifically, but I would say that these days 5 months is not considered a very long time to have a full out. Publishing has been pretty glacial and many agents are taking longer than that to respond. If you do choose to nudge, I would wait until after the holidays.

To anyone who received a full request from Laura: any word back yet? She's had my full manuscript for 5 months now and I've seen some older comments that suggest her timeline for a full is around 6 months to a year...I've been tempted to follow up with her and ask if she has any initial feedback/thoughts, mostly just to find out if I've been ghosted or not, but I've also read comments that said she'll typically reject a full manuscript if you nudge her with anything other than an offer from another agency. I definitely don't want to cause myself to be rejected after waiting so (im)patiently for 5 months, but the suspense is KILLING ME!!

I guess I'm just wondering about everyone else's experiences...is 5 months still early? Has anyone received an offer of representation after 5 months? Does anyone actually advise following up with her, or is it truly safer to just wait and hope she hasn't ghosted? Has she been known to ghost people on full requests???

Any relevant insight would be so appreciated as I try not to shoot myself in the foot over here!

@jadege Um...research? Repped Meg Cabot on all her major deals. I don't know about 2021 but research before this time. Or just research the name Meg Cabot?

Based on the timeline, this agent seems very on top of her inbox, but there’s a big gap between 6/25 and 7/16 of unanswered queries. Anyone else stuck in that spot? Based on the pattern it seems possible she forgot. Anyone have thoughts?
