Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Leave comments about your experiences with this literary agent, or read what other authors have to say.

14 days from submission of query to rejection. Her reply was polite and encouraging. Unsure if it was a form rejection, but well-thought through.

Interesting concept, but doesn't fit her list at this time. Oh well!

Loved the characters, felt that overall the story needs more, more plot and world-building. Happy that I at least got some feedback, but this rejection was a real let-down.

Congrats Earthling! Good for you.

I'm VERY excited to be working with Michelle and Amanda, who's been her assistant for a few years and is now taking on her own clients. They're enthusiastic, warm, intelligent women with great editorial comments and a lot of passion for books. I'm in very good hands.

ER: 2/29/2016. A very helpful reply from Michelle: "Thank you for giving me the chance to consider THE KEY TO OKENWODE. Although I loved your premise and your writing shows real talent, I'm afraid that the voice did not sound authentically YA to me. I will have to pass, however, what does not work for me could be the perfect fit for another agent. Don't give up!"

To date, this is the only feedback I've gotten from any agent. Thank you, Michelle!

Slightly personalized rejection. Loved the overall concept but voice wasn't for her. Gotta give her credit for responding so quickly and giving it a personal touch!
