Got a rejection from Melissa Jeglinski. I sent my query letter to Pamela Harty. So much for doing your individual agent query homework before sending.

Rejection within 12 hours;

Thank you so much for allowing our agency to consider your material. Unfortunately, after carefully reviewing your query, we’ve determined that this particular project isn’t the right fit for our agency at this time. As I’m sure you know, the publishing industry changes swiftly now, as do readers’ tastes and trends. As a result, our own agents’ needs shift and change, as well; therefore, we would like to encourage you to consider querying us with future projects as you may deem appropriate.

Again, thank you very much for allowing us this chance to consider your material, and we wish you all the best in your publishing endeavors.

Sincerely,

Whitney

Thanks for sharing Steenah. I've been querying Venom for 2 years and Chain Reaction for 1.5 years.

Don't ever give up! I just signed with Pamela Harty after seeking representation for over two years. I had stopped querying after I self published the novel but due to it's success an opportunity arose with the Knight Agency and I couldn't be happier.

Wow no one commented here in over a year. I've queried Pamela on 5/9 and nudged her today. I've heard from Deirdre, who told me, that if one of them passes on Venom, no matter which agent I've queried, it's a no from the agency. Funny, Lucienne sent me a R this spring. Will try Chain Reaction with Deirdre again next month.

2/23/12, I've queried her. Yesterday morning, she rejected me--not a right fit for agency, courtesy from Melissa.
