A short note that said the project wasn't a good fit, but she enjoyed my writing and asked to be kept in mind for any revised versions or new series. So, that was very encouraging. Kind of her to take time.

To imjjang in response to your question: If you really want her I would submit but mention in the query in a professional manner that though you realize your wordcount is not quite up the count she is requesting you really would like to work with her and will be willing to add works and make any other editorial changes to MS should you and she become a team (as long as this is truthful, of course). By saying this you will be letting her know you have read and are willing to do the work involved in submitting exactly what she is asking for so she knows you will be professional when working together. This, from what I've seen and heard, is a big reason agents ask for a particular way of submitting, because they want to see if writers are willing to do the homework of checking their submission guidelines, and also to see if the writer is willing and able to do what they ask. It's part of seeing if you'll be a professional should you work together, and of seeing how much you are seeking THEM as your agent and not just throwing it out there for anyone. If you don't agree with above or if it's not the truth of how you feel, I wouldn't submit to her. I wish you all the best!

I know on her MSWL on her Query page says min of 65K - do you think she's EXTREMELY strict about that? Mine comes to a little over 62K... Do you think I should scratch her name off my list or give it a go?

Have communicated with her several times. She's very nice and seems like she'd make a great agent. Makes very clear how she will keep in communication with her authors, sounds like she makes herself accessible to them. I think she'd be a blessing to an author.
