Has anyone heard back from a recent query submission?

EQ/FR: 1/11 (sent full ms as requested in pitch event)
Nudged with offer of publication: 3/2
Offer of rep: 3/10
Ultimately, I turned down the offer & signed with another agent. We had a great chat on the phone and she sounded supportive and knowledgable about the industry.

Her auto-response is a bit confusing. Says that she will respond within 6 weeks. Not sure if this means after 6 weeks its a CNR or if people are allowed to follow up after about 6 weeks if no response was given.

Thank you, Patrick! That's a great explanation. I'll bet that's why I'm seeing those patterns on the data here. I appreciate your help. :-)

If you're looking at the data here on QueryTracker, it could be because some people failed to record their replies with us. Shame on them.

But some agents will have a no-reply-equals-no policy, while others might try to always reply but sometimes just get too busy and can't. These are the ones you'll see with some rejections, some requests and some silent rejections.

I'm new to querying, and I was wondering if someone could tell me why you see some queries get request, and some rejections, but then others get no answers at all. Why would an agent answer only some queries and ignore others? Thanks for your help!
