Congrats @Earth2Andy!

Bummer @aetherquill

I am still waiting on a very overdue partial, but I know she doesn't always go in order, so patience is the order of the day...

FR: 05/08/19 - I think I might have messed up. I sent the full manuscript because her query response said "please send this over" without any other detail, but I saw on Twitter that she always requests partials before fulls. Sigh.

Aetherquill, when she did a #tenqueries type of thing on Twitter, she mentioned occasionally requesting a full manuscript right away. So I think you're good. :)

My heart-wrenching decline: 5/20/2019
Laura is seriously awesome, guys. She's professional, she's articulate, she has great ideas, she offered me an excellent balance of identifying aspects she loved with aspects she thought needed work (she mentioned things I hadn't even thought of), and she's REALLY committed to figuring out what her authors' personal career goals are and working with them to achieve those goals, whatever they are. I'm kind of gutted that I'm turning her down -- she's been among my top agents for so long! -- but I was in the lucky/unlucky position of like...I had no bad options, but I could only choose one. Anybody would be in great hands with Laura. She's worth the wait!

I received a partial request from Laura on April first this year (sent it to her the same day), and have not heard anything back yet, but I see that others who sent their partials in as late as June have been hearing back. Is anyone else still waiting on word back about a partial sent as far back as late March or early April? I'm trying to decide if I should nudge.

*Update: 12/14/18 Full request

FINAL UPDATE: 5/20/2019: Form rejection. Very disappointing. Oh well.

5/6/19: form rejection:

"Thanks for letting me take a peek at your MS. I really enjoyed your concept, but unfortunately, I just wasn't loving it enough to take it on.

I wish you the best of luck on your publishing journey. "

I kinda anticipated the rejection, since I'd read through the draft shortly after I sent the full manuscript and realized how much I needed to change. Wish I knew if it was a result of taste, or a result of craft, that lead to the rejection. Le sigh. At least the revisions are nearly done and I can send it back out to my readers and work on something else for a bit.
