ER 26/10/2017 "Thank you for sending me the manuscript for .... I'm sorry to say, though, that the material does not seem to be a fit for my list at this time, and so I must pass. I'm sorry to have this news for you, but do appreciate you allowing me the chance to read your work. I wish you the very best of luck."

ER 10/5 I'm ok with this one.

Thank you again for submitting to me from #DVpit! I think your pitch was outstanding, and I can see you have something really promising here! I think with how heavy the subject matter is in your ms (just based on the sample pages) I am probably *not* the best agent for this wonderful manuscript. HOWEVER, I don't know if my colleague, Jenn Kim saw and liked your pitch or not, but this is completely up her alley, so I highly suggest you send it on over her way (jennifer@dijkstraagency.com) as I think she'd be a better match for the depth of your story. I hate to say it, but I'm a bit more commercially focused than literary, and that's another reason Jenn would be a great fit for you as well. Please know I so appreciate the chance to read your work, and wish you the very best in your search for a home for it!

Hey, Hulagirl, don't feel like the Lone Ranger, my rejection took a whopping 36 hours. I think Patrick once suggested that this not an easy business to get into, and that was an understatement.

Seriously??? She had my query less than 24 hours when she rejected it. Did she even really look at it?
