It's been over 8 wks, so I'm closing this one out. I had a surprise request from a diff agent after 90 days though, so I suppose anything is possible! I just don't like the loose ends hanging on my query list. 101K upmarket women's fiction.

Those email tracking systems are not 100% accurate. Most email clients can be configured to block the signals that determine if an email was opened or not. And more and more of them are now blocking by default.

If it tells you an email was opened, then it probably was. It’s rare to get false positives. But if it says the email was never opened, that’s not always true, so don’t assume it was never read. There’s still a good chance it was.

I find it odd she rejects some people and doesn't respond to other queries? She says she's read all queries prior to November 1, but my mail tracking app shows she never opened my email?

I did a pitch to Michelle at a writer's conference. She was on Skype, and was there for Laurie Mclean. She liked my pitch, was quite pleasant, and asked i send a sample to the agency. We'll see.

Form rejection, but encouraging and fast, and not everybody gets even that much, so it helps. A little.

Thank you for the chance to see your work. Unfortunately, this didn’t resonate with me quite the way I’d hoped it would so I'm going to decline at this time. The publishing industry is rather subjective, so what may not work for me could be just what another agency is looking for. Therefore, I encourage you to continue your pursuit of publication.

In your search for the perfect agent you may want to check out I have found it to be a very helpful resource in targeting just the right agents.

Thank you for considering me and I wish you great success with your writing career.
