“Not for me—thanks anyway.”

Same line he used on others BUT at least he replied back, right?

Beloved Son, upmarket commercial thriller (155,000 words)
Emailed 4.28.21 on a lark. Held little hope given comments below.
Got a call within ten minutes. "You've got something here, but you've also got 155K words! Trim or cut in two then get back with me." Very blunt, but he's the first agent I've actually spoken to, so pretty excited. Emailed him back with a proposal to cut the novel into two parts, end part 1 with a cliffhanger, are you interested? He said yes, email him with a polished draft and outlines for the other 3 books when I'm ready.
All this to say, don't give up! I'm not there yet, and maybe this won't work out, but I easily could've talked myself out of querying him. Instead, I have new hope and a direction. Give him a shot!

I am another member of the "Not for me -- thanks anyway" club. Yes he responds quickly, but I would've liked a little more understanding on his part. We feel an emotional attachment to our works, so why not say "I don't think that this is the right project for me" like others have replied?

Sent 7/24/2020, passed on it 9/16/2020. He told me via email that he didn't think he could sell my novel in today's publishing marketplace. I've been told this is a pretty generic response, though I wondered if it could possibly be true. It's not about race or pandemics. Still ... people still want to read about sex and relationships, don't they? So I think it's safe to say he passed.

I would like to thank this agent for meeting with me recently at a virtual writing conference. I regret to inform him that his demeanor and communication style were not a fit for me at this time. I hope he understands that finding agent representation is a subjective matter, and wish him all the best in his search for authors to represent.
