Coffee_obsessed: No confirmation email. Sorry I didn't see this sooner. Hoping she got it, lol.

I'm hoping she'll look at YA in any genre...

emwrites: thanks! I didn't receive a confirmation email either when I sent my partial in August. Haven't heard anything either. Crossing my fingers for you too :)

Coffee_Obsessed: I haven't posted anything here yet because I was waiting for results, but I have a partial out with Stefanie (sent 10/4) and I never received a confirmation email. The jury's still out, so my fingers are crossed! I'll nudge after three months if I haven't heard anything.

hcmarks-question: did you happen to receive a confirmation email after you submitted your requested partial? Thanks!

Voxeterna1 - I recently received a rejection from an agent who labeled my historical novel too "commercial," which was not what he was seeking at the moment. I, too, wondered what he meant. I found this blog article from an author that I thought explained it well. I kind of like the fact that he thought my novel was "commercial." Maybe that will help me sell it one day!

In her genres list is just says "commercial and young adult". Sorry to seem like a "noob" but I'm unclear as to what that really means. I was intending to send her a romance, which I THINK would fall under the banner of "commercial" fiction. But I'm not sure and I would hate to send an agent something that they specifically made known they don't really want.

Forgot that I had queried her so the rejection wasn't too much of a blow. Only slightly varied from the other form rejections.

"Thank you very much for your query below. I enjoyed reading these pages, but I am sorry to say that I didn’t fall in love with the plot. I cannot offer you representation at this time, but I do hope you query me with any projects in the future, if the opportunity arises."

EQ 6/5/17, literary mystery, 89,500 words. Responding to her stated interest in upmarket fiction, strong female characters, and family sagas. However, I misspelled her first name as Stephanie in the subject line, so I'm hoping she'll forgive that if she's interested in the ms!
6/7/17, I sent a follow-up email to acknowledge and correct the misspelling of Stefanie. :)

I got a rejection on a query from her a couple of weeks after I had notified her of an offer of rep. And I'd notified her twice. I even added "offer of representation" on the subject line one of those times, instead of just hitting reply. Guess she never saw it!
