Via their website, send queries to and indicate which agent you are querying.
Pretty detailed instructions on site--pay attention!

5/28/15 I sent my two manuscripts as requested with three illustration samples... instead of sending the whole dummy. When they said samples I didn't think she wanted the whole book. Was this wrong? Should I have sent the whole book mock up?

Closed this out after 6 weeks (ER - two picture books 4/15/14 closed on 6/3). Did anyone ever hear back from this agent (good or bad) after six weeks?

Good luck Tangled!!

Luv2, the book she liked was about a boy and a dragon. When I scan the spreads they are at 300 dpi (or ppi), but when you convert it to a pdf file through photoshop, choose the *for web and online viewing, option. That will convert the whole book down to 2mg file size so it can be sent through email. Hope that helps :)

YAY! Marcia is awesome. I really hope she likes it. She requested the synopsis of books 2-3 as well and said it would be at least 3 weeks. So, fingers are crossed.

Hi Luv2, I created two dummy books, which essentially are fully sketched out picture books with one or two final art pieces (full color). I scanned everything in and designed each book spread in Photoshop. There is a convert to PDF presentation option in Photoshop which makes it into a PDF book. Make sure to choose the low resolution option and it will only come out to 2mb per book or so. Perfect for submitting via email.

The books were sent specifically to Marcia. Her website at the time (I don't know if it's changed, so always double check) said it was ok to query with two dummy books if you were an author/illustrator.

Hope that helps :)

Thanks, Luv2Rhyme! For picture books, if you're an artist as well as writer, that will give you a huge advantage. Most agents and publishing companies are looking specifically for author/illustrators if they rep/publish picture books. However, if you can't draw, you should submit manuscript only.
