Delayed sending because it looked like she was swamped with the agency shift and QT writers weren't getting much response.

UPDATE: ER 5/16/17 (over a year later)
I know several of you are waiting to hear from her, so I'll share my experience. Soumeya and I have kept in touch over the year she was considering my novel with quick emails about once a quarter from either her or me. She said at one point she had other readers at Writers House looking at the manuscript, too. After she switched to HSG, the first I heard from her was in response to an email I sent in early May. She responded today with an apology for taking so long to get back with me, and a somewhat helpful rejection. She complimented my characters, my concept and plot, my writing style...but rejected me because "the book is ultimately too commercial for my list," followed by the form rejection lines about subjectivity in the agenting biz. I have no hard feelings over this (though a quicker rejection would've been nice); in the end, this rejection tells me that she wasn't the right agent for this novel, but that someone else out there will be. I'm sending out another query letter tonight, in fact...

I'll just say I waited a very long time for a response on my full request, and though what I received was ultimately not an offer, it was constructive, kind, and attentive feedback that showed she'd really read my manuscript and given it some genuine consideration. It's a tough spot to be waiting so long and feeling very ignored in the querying progress, and I appreciate shared frustrations from the writer's perspective, but I also wanted to offer a little empathy for a keen-eyed and kind reader likely burdened by the overflowing inboxes and unrelenting change and motion that plague this whole industry. I'd query her again on another project, even knowing I'd have to wait.

ritingJunkie, I agree that this behavior is unacceptable. When you solicit someone's business, you have an obligation to respond. If the number of queries an agent receives is too many to permit them to respond, the appropriate solution is hiring another assistant or not accepting queries until they catch up.

I'm among the folks waiting to hear back on a Full I sent Soumeya while she was at Writers House, and I finally tweeted at her this past week, for lack of knowing what else to do when email didn't seem to work--but, it had occurred to me that that email address was primarily for queries, and since she wasn't open to queries... well, I finally decided to tweet.

For what it's worth, Soumeya tweeted this today:

"Thx to the authors who sent me full MSS for their patience. Email me at HSG if you need to pull the sub otherwise I will get back to you"

I'm not sure I'm holding my breath for a response, but...
