E-mail query sent: 5/25/2020, however I was unsure if it went through
Re-sent query via manager/form: 7/19/2020
Rejected: 12/10/2020; she apologized for the delay and said it was due to having a similar novel that she was already working through. She said she would see if Lizzie Poteet was still interested, as she had rejected my query because it was still in Julie's inbox.
12/30/2020: Julie e-mailed me asking me for the full synopsis, presumably to sent on to Lizzie however that was not specified.

Pitched via Agency pitch event on 11/6/20
Submitted first 6 chapters on 11/19/20
Full Request on 12/18/20, submitted on 12/20/20

She and her assistant, Madison, invited me to send them my query and first 5-6 chapters, along with blurbs for the planned sequels and a synopsis. Both Julie and Madison were lovely and very easy to talk with.

As others have experienced, Julie gave specific feedback on her reasons for rejection, which I deeply appreciated. She seemed like a wonderful professional; I will definitely submit other projects to her.

Given her decent response and acceptance rates I was about to submit about a 90K contemporary literary women's crime novel until I viewed their list of 144 fiction authors, 95% of whom are ostensibly female. As a male author seeking representation, I already felt I was behind the eight-ball, and feel that way about the universe of literary agents generally, who are overwhelmingly female and primarily tend to sell (or at least advertise successes for) books by women authors. I have nothing against women winning in this game but it personally depresses me. Please don't call me sexist for simply pointing out the way things are. Why is this imbalance never talked about?

Submission 12/12 2020 - suspense
Rejected 12/15 2020. said my word count was too short (71k) but if I were to "beef it up to around 80k" she'd be willing to take another look at it.

Submission 11/12/2020, 115k Epic Fantasy

Rejected 12/15/2020, note mentioned that my word count was too long and to resubmit if I shortened it, but did not provide a target word count.

I met Julie at a conference where she requested I submit to her. After doing so and not hearing for months, and having followed up, still no response. I contacted a fellow writer who also had met with Julie and sent requested material to her. This writer had also had no response even a year later.

She was super nice and I met her intern Elle as well. Requested a partial, which I sent 11/7. We also talked about various ways I imagined the book turning into a series. She seems lovely and I'm hoping it works out!

Queried 10/4/20
Rejection: 10/11/20

An actual rejection that I don't feel was a form rejection. Nothing construction but did let me know she was passing because she had something similar already.
