EQ: 5/20/19
PR: 5/24/19 - Response came from Ms. Gwinn. Said she liked the concept and story but wasn't in love with the writing. No specifics on what she didn't like, just a suggestion to hone my craft more. Query included the first chapter.

I originally queried Julie on February 14. On February 17, she responded, wanting more information about me and the project. She did not ask for a partial. I have nudged a few times since then but have yet to receive any sort of response. Has anyone else experienced this?

EQ 8/21/17 (Passed after two nudges on Venom's partial R&R--not right agent for it, no other feedback on partial R&R. But she said I can query her again in a few months.)
Updated: 8/29/17 (Upgraded to a full R&R with feedback coming in a few days. She must've changed her mind or mistaken me for somebody else last week. I plan to requery her in two months, since I'm already halfway through my full revisions. )
Full R&R sent on 9/17/18.
Update: ER 3/8/19--I really hated it to close it as a R after all this time. Two-and-a-half weeks ago, I nudged her since I haven't heard her from a long time. She said it wouldn't work since she had trouble placing a client's work which was similar than Venom. I didn't believe her. She said it was a no for my idea but not for me and that she would look at my synopsis for my other three WIPs I've mentioned to her in 2017. But she never got back to me when I nudged her on Thursday. It's a R in a way as "not a good fit", since my beta said her response was strange.

While I wait, and I encourage y'all to do the same, get the mailing list together for pre-launching. Update your blogs, twitter, face-pages, and other social media memberships you're a part of. Maybe even become members with the slant of your author status. Clean your profiles of unwanted advertisements and do some networking with those you're linked with. Not pushy but letting people know you exist and are a positive individual. Make it easy on your future agent, will ya? Set-up your website or do your research for what website provider you'll use and supplies you'll need to accommodate visitors. Start marketing initiatives and pre-launch ideas for success.
You see, the thing is that agents know the business, but they can't do all the heavy lifting. Your books are, and will only be, as good as your continuing effort. Here's a tidbit for you guys. Fifty Shades of Grey was a self-published novel based on a fan fiction dialog for Twilight lovers. The writing was poor, BUT... the fan base was already there. She had done her marketing and became a success. She was an Indie author, y'all.

She was really nice in her reply! Only problem was word count was too low for my YA Contemporary book. If I increased it, she allowed to resubmit!
