Kameronw, I queried back in March and got a FR only like 3 weeks ago. She does go through and answer! Hang in there, you'll hear something soon :)

kameronw, I queried the same day as you and just got a full request a few days ago. Hopefully you will hear something soon.

I'm wondering if I got skipped. I submitted 6/14, and although it seems like others have waited over a month before hearing anything, I'm also seeing folks who were responded to after that date within just a couple days. Is there a "maybe" pile that agents have and come back to?

Ms. Gwinn has my full! I’d sacrifice a cute Disney critter to work with her! ????

Gwinn claims the word count is too high for the genre. Quick response, which I appreciate, but she seems interested in novellas or short novels.

cwildman thank you. I actually got a full request today so I'm glad I was patient. I hear great things about Julie.

And yes I'm working on a new book. A great distraction from stalking query tracker. ;)

Good luck to you on your project!

@Shessy9986 - I’d suggest you look at the agents timeline. It will show you where your Query is in her list of queries & you’ll get a rough idea how long it takes her to respond. The nice thing about Julie is that you will typically get a response one way or the other. When I looked at her timeline from the last year, I think she responded to nearly everyone. Sometimes it takes her a day, sometimes it takes her a few months. I sent my query in June 6th & haven’t heard a peep. It was a resubmission after she said my initial project was too long. I know it can be hard, but maybe you can work on your sequel while you’re patiently waiting!

@Shessy9986 - You can always withdraw the submission. Query Manager pages have a message button at the bottom of the status page that allows you to nudge or withdraw.

Thanks @angelsteele! I happened upon a tweet that they often share queries and try everything they can not to "let the good ones go" so I'll probably just keep this open and keep my fingers crossed.

@Shessy9986 generally speaking in this situation I will query another agent after their timeframe is up, and somewhere in the query I let them know that I previously have queried Agent X before. For example: I did query Melissa Schultz in April before I made the decision to have my manuscript professionally edited.

That's just me, I'm not sure what other people do.

I have an etiquette question. Their site says only to query one agent at a time, but if one passes feel free to query another. It also says no response in 3 weeks is a pass.

So even though Julie didn't reject my work (Its been over 30 days since I queried), since she didn't reply am I safe to query another agent there at the agency? I know they use query manager so they can all see this, and I don't want to do anything taboo. Maybe Julie is just behind so I will wait a bit longer, but I don't want to wait indefinitely since her response is only 50% and thus there is a good chance she's considered me a pass.

No replies are rough. :(

07/01/2021: submitted full by request after pitching directly to her at the Seymour Agency's Pitch Perfect event.

She requested the synopsis, full ms, and any log lines for planned sequels/any other completed works or WIPs. Looking to represent aspiring career authors, it seems.
