After 119 days, I received the same email as @parkabee
I'm glad she at least enjoyed the pages she read!

Edit: upper middle grade science-fantasy. 72k words.

Dear ____,

Apologies for the unusual delay, I was unable to consider submissions Dec-Jan due to an unexpectedly busy winter. I really appreciated your patience as I hung onto [TITLE]. Your pitch intrigued me, which is why I lingered on it. I was finally able to read further into the submission, and although I enjoyed the pages, I didn't have a strong enough pull to help you break this out in the crowded market.

I hope you will keep going with it, and I wish you the best of luck in your publishing ventures.

Sincerely,

Mary

**update** Rejected with a very thoughtful personalized response saying that she liked the pitch and enjoyed the book, but didn't feel drawn to it enough to be able to find it a place in a crowded market. Overall very encouraging reply despite its being a 'no.' (140 days)

Nudged after a few months and she replied with a friendly, prompt note saying it's in her TBR and she's behind on reading submissions. She seems like she'd be great to work with.
