Hi, raktinope! I submitted a query but didn't receive a confirmation email.

The form on the website is still open and his Publisher's Marketplace hasn't been updated since 2012. Can anyone confirm that this agent is actually closed? Otherwise I'm gonna shoot my shot.

Did anyone get a confirmation email when they submitted the form? I'm not sure he actually got my query...

Just signed with him. He is amazing, and such a class act. Highly recommended.

Although RC is closed to queries, I'd been in touch with him a few years ago, on a previous manuscript, and on that basis reestablished contact.

He agreed to receive a query and based on that -- he liked the story described -- asked for the first 50 pages. After spending a weekend reading that, he provided very helpful, personal feedback (he certainly read it all) but regretted to say he would pass. Too far afield from his comfort zone.

I echo others' comments -- this fellow is the dream agent. Wish things turned out otherwise, but still am reasonably pleased with out interaction.

Richard Curtis is - or was - a writer's dream agent. He's now 80, and is taking it easy. To the best of my knowledge, that's why he's generally closed to Queries.

If you can snag Richard Curtis at a time when he's open to queries, you will have one of New York's finest, most caring, and most ethical agents. Although he is now nearly 80, I have the greatest respect for this man.

according to their website they only accept queries via online form. I'm confused by the "This agent is closed" marking.

Profile Update: Closed to queries.

A message from the agent stated they were closed to queries even though their site doesn't reflect this.
