according to their website they only accept queries via online form. I'm confused by the "This agent is closed" marking.

Profile Update: Closed to queries.

A message from the agent stated they were closed to queries even though their site doesn't reflect this.

Rejection was specific to my query, which (as far as rejections go) is nice. And you have to appreciate the speed of the response.

phantasy, his website says nothing about how long he takes to respond, or even if he responds at all. i would wait. I have heard from others that sometimes when an agent hangs on to a query for a while, it can be a good thing. I have had responses from agents ranging from 5 minutes (yes, it's true) to 6 months! Mine query has been out to him for 12 days now without a response.

I sent this agent a request 27 days ago...should I send again? All the comments here explain rather quick responses. Thanks.

Email query sent 3/10
Full manuscript request sent 3/11
Personal rejection 3/13
70K historical mystery-thriller

He offered his reasons for rejecting, shared some insights and definitely showed he read the book and gave it due consideration. He did not keep me waiting, either. Very professional, anyone who lands this man as an agent is fortunate, I'd say.

Oh, and he read it over the weekend, as well.
