Website says she is closed after March 1. I received a reply to a query today from as follows:

I am closed to queries from March 1 to June 1, 2018. Any queries sent during this time will be deleted. Please resend after June 1. (If I request material during this time from a query sent prior to March 1, sending it to this address will reach me.)

If your message is not a query letter, please email me at However, any queries sent to that address will be deleted unread.

Thanks for your understanding and your patience. I look forward to your queries after June 1.

Auto-reply saying that she's closed to queries as of March 1, but it sort of implies that she's closed now. Anyone else get this auto-reply?

At least I'm getting better at picking agents who respond, even if it is with a rejection.

Guess she wasn't watching the Super Bowl, though I do appreciate the quick response!

YA Fantasy, multi-POV 97,000

282 days after she first liked my #DVPit tweet she finally sent me a rejection on the first 50 pages. It was a bit personalized (she thought the first few pages was all world building and the action did nothing for the character which I and many editors disagree with).

I can finally call this DONE.

And if anyone is wondering, she did publicly insult a writing friend of mine who has a disability. There was a full tweet thread humiliating my friend even though she didn't name names. My friend knew it was about her and felt horrible She didn't know she did anything wrong and to be honest, from her POV, it didn't sound like she did anything to grant the public Twitter rant. To each their own with this one.

Just to wade into the argument about Caitie's personality, I didn't find her rude or unprofessional or catty at all. Yes she didn't address me by name, but I don't particularly mind as I know agents are busy. However, I will say that her reason for passing was wide off the mark as it flies in the face of what agents who have requested R&Rs from me have said. I was really confused to be honest! But she herself admits other agents will feel differently, so different strokes for different folks!

Also, I'm not sure what the basis is for the claim she's rude on Twitter. I don't see that at all.
