Full Request: 3/20/22
--- : 4/18/22 Ross notified me to apologize for not getting to my ms yet and that he'll get to it soon, and that I'd keep him notified on any updates on my end as he knows that multiple agents have requested my full. An agent has never kept me posted like this before without me nudging first. No matter what the end result will be, that says A LOT about him as a person, that he actually cares about an author's time and patience. It was a really rare and nice touch that I had to share.
ER: 4/29/22 Similar form rejection as one below, said positive things "...but in the end I couldn’t come to it with a clear plan of how to sell it. You deserve an agent who does feel that spark of salability."
LGBT Literary Fiction
Sent after receiving an email from him that he'd like to consider the book.

Literary Fiction 75K. Very honest rejection, which I appreciate:
Thanks again for writing. I found this to be an enjoyable read, but unfortunately I was unable to come to the text with a clear way to sell it, and you deserve an agent who does feel that spark of salability.
I also wanted to add, in case anyone was too discouraged by the comment below, that while I think he might focus more on nonfiction overall, he does still request fiction manuscripts. I just queried a novel today (9/23) and got a same day request. He's an amazing agent, so I didn't want anyone who might be a great match to miss out because they never queried.
