@jtmorganwrites, apparently, I was the exception. After I received an offer of representation, I sent her the full manuscript. Instead of declining, Penelope made an offer too. I accepted and she’s been an amazing agent so far!

Requested full manuscript July 2024. Nudge with offer of rep January 2025. Feb 2025 she sent detailed edits but declined to rep since I already had an offer. Offer fell through so she requested a revised manuscript, which I sent March 2025. Nudged Sept 2025, said she’d read it end-of-month. Nudged again Feb 2026, no response. Edits were very helpful, but I agree with comments below that she only responds to nudges w/offers, and will likely decline anyway because you have an offer. It’s especially frustrating when you’re so far into the process with her and feel so close. Glad it’s not just me.

Queer romance graphic novel (YA/A crossover)
Really helpful rejection letter about how she liked the idea but didn't think she was the right fit given the target audience.

Extremely detailed personal rejection, but ultimately came down to word count :( Disappointing when everything else seemed pretty positive! Onto the next one and hopefully better luck in the new year...
