Bad personal experience. Won't recommend anyone to query her, ever.

@roundthetreewego, I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I wanted to pitch in and add that I'd sent a personalized, well-intentioned query a while ago, and she called it out the next day on Twitter. Eventually I went with another agent, and never even heard from her at all.

Question--are people querying the penny@empireliterary.com email address or the queries@empireliterary.com ? (following @horrorchix89's post)

Edit: I sent mine to penny@empireliterary.com, btw!

Edit: Thanks for clarifying (and good luck!)

penny@empireliterary.com is the correct address

Same. I sent mine to penny@empireliterary.com because that was under her personal bio on the agency's website.

I submitted my query to her penny@empireliterary.com email just the other day, since that's what was under her personal bio.

So I may have messed up. I submitted to her on March 31st using her penny@empire email instead of the main query email on the agency website. Just resent it to the queries@empire website. Hopefully, this was too big of a screwup

I had closed out this query MONTHS ago.
EQ: 10/12/17 after #dvpit request
Full request: 3/02/18
Full sent: 4/15/18 (I was working on finishing a revision and Penny invited me to send the MS when it was ready. Fingers crossed!)

So if there's anyone else waiting for a response -- hold out hope! YA Vietnamese-inspired fantasy 104k.

@BlaDeBla Penny is a CNR (closed no response agent), which is why I originally closed out my query months ago. Hope that helps. :)

I never forget the "no responders" to full requests (heartbreaking) and I don't query them again in the future. A form would be kind and professional.

@Fictiongirl I did after twelve months. I am also doing that, too, then query her again in a couple years.
