Since signing with Penny, I revised my MS for 2 weeks, and Penny was extremely responsive and replied to my emails within minutes. We went on submission to publishers in early March and my book went to auction and I had a deal by mid-March. She is extremely hard working and dedicated to her clients, about whom she is extremely selective in signing, which is what allows her to be so dedicated. Anyone would be lucky to have Penny as an agent. Would recommend everyone to query her!

MG Asian-American Fantasy -- I truly hope she believes in my story. Fingers crossed.

After several nudges, I decided to call and left a vm. She finally responded the same day with a personalized rejection.

Bad personal experience. Won't recommend anyone to query her, ever.

@roundthetreewego, I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I wanted to pitch in and add that I'd sent a personalized, well-intentioned query a while ago, and she called it out the next day on Twitter. Eventually I went with another agent, and never even heard from her at all.

Question--are people querying the email address or the ? (following @horrorchix89's post)

Edit: I sent mine to, btw!

Edit: Thanks for clarifying (and good luck!)

Same. I sent mine to because that was under her personal bio on the agency's website.

I submitted my query to her email just the other day, since that's what was under her personal bio.

So I may have messed up. I submitted to her on March 31st using her penny@empire email instead of the main query email on the agency website. Just resent it to the queries@empire website. Hopefully, this was too big of a screwup
