Thanks for your query.

I'm sorry to report that this isn't a good fit for my list at this time. I wish you the best of success in finding an enthusiastic agent.

Sent cover letter, he asked to see the proposal, then...
" I like this but I've decided I am just too out of touch with current cookbook editors to be able to take it on and be effective. I hope you've found an enthusiastic agent in the meantime and I wish you the best of success.

Thanks for thinking of me.

But he's listed as doing cookbooks under genres...

I just received a second rejection from Matt. He must have forgotten he already told me no. This one was nice too.
Hi Shirlee,

This is a neat idea but I'm not confident I can place the book and therefore I am sending my regrets.

I wish you the best of success and hope you are able to find a good home for your book.

One of the nicest rejections I've received for my cookbook. This was after a request for my full proposal.

Hi Shirlee,

I do think this is well-done and that there is a potential market here, but I am not convinced you have enough of a platform for me to be able to market it effectively.

That said, another agent may feel differently, or know exactly how to pitch you, and I wish you the best of success in finding an enthusiastic rep.

Thanks for thinking of me.

best regards,
