Aw so sad to hear that she's no longer with this agency. She was one of my earliest personalized rejections, left such an impression on me. I wish her well and hope she's with another agency soon!

Hi jtwg50,
It is the address listed on her website. Maybe it is a temporary glitch. Give it a day or two and try again.

E mail address is no longer any good. My EQ was returned as undeliverable -- "Recipient not found."

EQ: 9/26
ER: 9/26

A rejection, but the most personalized and nicest rejection ever. She said my bio is impressive, that she loved my opening pages, told me that I wrote with humor, had a great ear for dialogue, and that she even admired the weighty issues that my book explores (based on what she saw from the synopsis), but that she wasn't the right agent for it.

This is another reminder (as if we don't already get reminded enough), that an agent can love your concept, opening pages, synopsis, etc. and STILL reject it, for reasons that could be personal, or that they don't know how to sell it, or don't have editors/publishers in mind for it, etc. All we can do is keep on querying...but I truly thank Ms. Eisenman for being so lovely and classy. She's definitely worth querying, even if it's a no!

Form Rejection:

Thank you very much for your query. I'm afraid your novel doesn't sound quite right for me, but I wish you the best of luck with it.

Got the autoresponse about maternity leave ending on April 15... which was last Friday. Does anyone know if she's back yet? Should I resubmit? I was specifically waiting until after the 15th, but am now wondering if I should have waited longer.

update: sent EQ again 4/27 just in case; didn't receive the autoresponse this time

On 4/18/16, I queried Leigh with Venom (though I got the out of-office maternity leave message with no confirmation) and nudged her today. She passed and said it's not a good fit, though she doesn't rep thrillers, when I queried it under commercial fiction. I'll try her this summer with Chain Reaction.
