It probably will turn into a rejection like others in the thread, but I decided to try. They really should change the wording on their website, if two weeks now means a pass instead of them not receiving the query.

@kelleycodygrimm How long was it between the request and your submission? I had a few like that but it was over a year between the request and submission so I figured by then their tastes or needs for the list may have changed.

Met her at the November 2019 Atlanta Writer's Conference meeting and pitched the manuscript. She asked for the first 50 pages. It was still a fairly new draft so I paid content and line editors to check the manuscript and took their suggestions. Sent it in and to date have not heard anything and like you have to pay to pitch to agents and I spent all that money on editing. I'm smarter now but I wish she'd at least say hey, thanks but I'm going to pass. Best of luck and keep writing!

I'm sorry @lisangus. It sucks when the website guidelines don't match the guidelines of a particular agent/auto-response email.

Submitted query Dec 4 2020 (Suspense, 71k)
Agency website says "If you do not hear from us within two weeks, we did not receive your query. We also encourage you to check with us regularly via email about the progress of your submission."
So, not having had any response by Jan 13, I nudged by email. (allowing for the holiday season and pandemic to slow responses.)
She replied almost right away."Thank you for your email. You should have received an auto-response at the time that if you did not hear back within two weeks, it was a pass. I'd reviewed your materials and while I found your story interesting, I'm afraid I did not feel that I was the best fit for it, so it is a pass for me."

I think you have an interesting story here, but I'm afraid I'm not connecting with it on the whole in a way that makes me think I'd be the best champion for it, so I am going to have to pass.
