Hey Kamak, as it's been several months, I think you have two options. You could mark your query as "closed" and then try again when he re-opens. Or you could nudge him now with an email that says (paraphrased) the following: you heard he intended to respond to all emails received before April 1, and you sent yours on whatever date, and since you haven't heard from him, you wanted to make sure your query hadn't gotten lost. Then, below that, paste your original query for his convenience. Which of these options you take would depend on whether you intend to query others at the agency. If yes, you need to resolve this query first, so nudge him. If not, it's probably not worth the added stress of nudging, which I personally find very stressful. Anyway, that's what I'd do in your position. Good luck and take care of yourself :)

MWesisberg, as far as you know if someone (me) submitted a query prior to April 1st, he (Paul, that is) intends to reply to ALL queries before he re-opens queries on July 1? If I have not heard back should I resubmit or simply move on? I value your opinion and guidance. Thank you.

ER 4/3/19 (Passed via nudges---not good fit before he closed for queries)

Fyi, when I asked him about his unanswered queries, he tweeted the following: "Yes, I'll definitely be looking at queries submitted before April 1st. The main reason for closing is to get caught up on all the queries that are already in the queue (plus 50-page requests, and full manuscript requests)."

Form Rejection: 03/08/2019

Thanks for letting me take a look at your query. I'm sorry it has taken me so long to get to it.

Unfortunately, I’m afraid I’m not the right agent for this project, so it’s best if I pass.

Thanks so much for thinking of me. I wish you success with your future writing.

EQ Aug 6 (Form)
PR (50 pages) - 1/18/19 - whoa I'd CNR'd but I guess he needed a break from queries for a bit there.

EQ: Feb 11 didn't hear anything
Re-sent Query: May 16 thinking maybe it got lost, plus I'd done a lot of updates since then
PR: May 22 responded to my original query, apologizing for the long delay
Partial Sent same day: May 22
ER: June 5 just said it wasn't right for his list--the most unhelpful kind of rejection. Though, I realize it's often true. Doesn't mean your work is bad, just not right for that agent. I soldiered on!
