Form rejection, same as the one below.

**update! I participated in dvpit on twitter and she liked my pitch...but she's already rejected me. I asked for advice and my critique group said go for it, so I queried her again. It's still probably a no, but I wanted to keep everyone updated!

Update number two: She requested my full manuscript today! I'm glad I decided to requery!

Lovely, personalized feedback. She waffled back and forth but ultimately decided to pass because it was too predictable and didn't fit into an age category. However her email was personalized and kind, and I think any author would be lucky to work with Lindsay :)

Mandy Hubbard gave me a personal ER, but it didn't say on their site that I had to mention, just not to query at the same time. So I didn't bring it up and am treating as a fresh query.

Thank you for your query. Unfortunately, it's not a perfect fit for me. I apologize for not having better feedback - sometimes it’s hard to put to words something that is just a matter of personal taste.

Writer's Digest, the AgentQuery Connect forums and QueryTracker are all great resources for writing, query critiques and researching literary agents as you continue towards publication.

I wish you success with your writing, and I appreciate you sharing your work with me.

Form: "Thank you for your query. Unfortunately, it's not a perfect fit for me. I apologize for not having better feedback - sometimes it’s hard to put to words something that is just a matter of personal taste. Remember this is a subjective industry, so even though your project isn't right for me, it might be right for another agent".

Lindsay is really amazing, you guys. She has a GREAT editorial eye. You know those kind of things someone catches even after many CPs and betas have read, and you're like nodding, wondering why it didn't occur to you before? She also has great suggestions and ideas to fix potential problems. She seems very passionate about her job, too. Seems like a very hard worker. I talked to 3 of her clients to decide if I went with her or not. All her clients love her, and she's fast reading client mss. She also nice. When I ended up signing with another agent, she emailed to congratulate me. IT was a tough choice, because I couldn't go wrong. I was lucky, I guess. But I wanted to say that anyone who gets to work with her is really blessed. Lindsay worked as Mandy Hubbard's assistant for years, so she really knows the industry. The agency is great, too. Has a good foreign rights agent, and an attorney who oversees contracts. I grilled her with questions and she was always super nice to answer everything. She travels to NY to schedule meetings with editors, so she's always in the loop. I think she'll have a very successful career! Good luck with your queries! :)
