Always verify agent's information before sending your query. Verify the agent's query preferences, contact information, genres of interest, and if the agent is still open to queries.

Although QueryTracker tries to stay current, it is not always easy. Never trust any single source for agent information (and yes, this includes QueryTracker).

Review the user comments for more information, and always follow exactly what it says on the agent's website.

And NEVER give money to an "agent".

Leave comments about your experiences with this literary agent, or read what other authors have to say.

I had ruled this one out a long time ago since I hadn't heard anything, but Mr. Zuckerman's assistant (Samantha Wekstein) just asked to see the first fifty pages!

Reject on Historical Time Travel. "Thank you for submitting your materials to Al Zuckerman for review. However, after considering them, we have decided that your project is not something we can successfully represent at this time. At 84, Al is cutting back on clients rather than taking on new ones and has more than enough on his plate. But I wish you good luck finding representation and a publisher for this." 5/10/16

whitewave: Not sure what happened with that query, but Al Zuckerman is active with deals on Publishers Lunch and a friend of mine was signed by him within the past year. To my limited knowledge, rejections come from the agent you queried. Maybe Zuckerman passed the query along, though, thinking a new agent might be interested?

This was a weird query experience for me...

EQ sent (via snail-mail) 5/5/2014

Form Rejection sent from agency dated 5/8/14, but the closing is from a Joyce Sitt, Assistant to Michael Mejias...there's no mention of Zuckerman, and neither of these folks/names are listed on the website...

Writers House LLC makes it sound like you query one agent, and not the agency, but because of this letter, I think I'm considering it an agency rejection...?

Partial request on 10/25 for my edgy YA memoir.

I've been working on the detailed outline all weekend. Any advice from anyone would be helpful. I know this is a big agency and I'm really excited about this one!

Thanks!

Hi Angelscribe - I'm surprised to see Al Zuckerman listed...I thought he retired a few years ago. But you seem to have been communicating with him?
