I just don't get it. Why do some people get fast responses while others have to wait 3-6 months to get a reply?

ER: 06/25 - so quick, which I appreciate! Comments were kind of odd, though... she didn’t like that there was social commentary, even though the story takes place during a time period wrought with social issues? Given that, I’m not too sad about this.

EMimimi, I think sending a nudge is definitely okay! I don't need to do this, because we've had recent interaction when I sent her my revised full, so she knows I'm still in the queue, *I* know I'm still in the queue, we're on the same page. Personally, I'd rather she read my manuscript when she's in the mindset for it, not because I rushed her along. YA fantasy is a tough sell these days, from what I hear, so whatever reason she has for waiting on mine, I'm good with it. YMMV.

dorrie6, I think 6 months for a full is too much. Isn't it ok to send a polite nudge after 3 months?

Thank you so much for thinking of me. I wish I had better news, but I'm afraid this project isn't the right fit for me. I have a very small list and I have to be extremely selective, and unfortunately this just didn't quite grab me.
Thank you again for the opportunity. I wish you the best of luck finding the right agent!

My best,
Melissa

EMimimi it is a full request. I really wouldn't worry about it. She requests a lot, so she always has a lot of reading on her plate. This is a slow process most of the time.

@dorrie6, is it a full request or just a query? I queried her on 4/27/19 and she asked for the full on 5/7/19. On 5/14/19 she wrote to me to say that she received my email and will be back to me with her thoughts soon. I'm still waiting.

Hester, if it helps to know, I have an outstanding sub with her from December. I recently rewrote the beginning of the book based on feedback from another agent, and asked Melissa if she'd like the updated version. She responded right away, asking for the new version and letting me know she was really behind on her reading. So I think she's just got a lot in her queue and she doesn't necessarily read in order. She was very nice in her response, though, so if it makes you feel better to check in, I doubt she'd be upset.

Hello fellow QT-ers!

I was wondering if anyone has an outstanding sub with Melissa from around March? I'm debating whether or not to nudge (*bites nails*). She seems absolutely wonderful and I don't want to rush her but I'm worried that my sub ended up in cyberspace! :).
