Ms. Dallow said in the agency webpage that she especially likes stories about serial killers. So I sent her a query and two chapters from my completed manuscript about a serial killer. She said she wasn't interested.

Jess had my full for almost three months and rejected with the same form everyone else is getting. This doesn't seem like an agent who feels obliged to offer a few lines of personalized feedback on a full, so caveat emptor.

Update: I also queried her with MS2 as she seemed to be looking for what I had, and again, I had a request for a full. I nudged her after I had multiple offers of rep, and she replied with what was the usual form, but with a line added in congratulating me. She does read in a timely manner, but seems to have very, very specific tastes.

EQ: 6/10, PitMad query request, including query letter, synopsis, first chapter
ER: 6/11, somewhat personalized. She said I have an interesting idea, but that it's not the right fit for her.

@WhiteGardenia, it's not 100% possible for agents to fall in love with everything in their wishlist. These things are subjective -- the writer's voice and style, the current market demands, and the agent's subjective opinion do matter too -- otherwise every #MSWL or pitch party query would get a full request, wouldn't it? Don't lose hope -- a form rejection doesn't mean you scratch out the agent forever. Jess might be a better fit for your WIP, who knows?

ER: 17-May (form rej.) Says “not the right fit,” although my WF project contains suspense, romance, crime, murder, etc. — everything she mentions in her bio that she’s looking for! Obviously, she’s not interested in my project, but her form letter rejection may as well just say “no thanks” since its elements fit her interests to-a-T. Meaningless.

Not going to query this agent again on my WIP.
