I'm so glad I read these comments, because the first chapter thing threw me for a minute. I thought there was a huge turnoff in there somewhere...

Form like, but somewhat personalized. After reading the first chapter, not a good fit.

Very prompt but polite rejection. "An interesting idea," but after reading the sample, she decided it wasn't quite a good fit for her. At least she read past the query letter!

Form rejection on an R&R today. Just FYI, from the QT reports she has requested 10 R&Rs and all of them have been rejections. She had good notes on my manuscript, but I definitely wish I had spent the time working on my next book instead.

Form rejections on full requests are THE WORST. I understand why it happens, but man, they sting.

You have such an interesting and great idea here. However, I found myself unable to really connect with the characters in the way I was hoping, therefore the story as a whole. Due to that, I don't feel I am the best person to represent this novel, but I wish you all the best with this idea and any other ideas in the future.

Rejection: 1/23/18 - couldn't connect with characters, but applauded improvements I made to the MS. Gave some good suggestions for improvement in the R&R request. At least there was hope.
