Rejection that was warm, informative and will help me adjust my submission going ahead. I really like this agent!

Got the best rejection letter I've ever received, even better than from full and partial requests.

Her assistant is QUICK! I sent an email to withdraw my query (the synopsis was TERRIBLE) and Genevieve got back to me in like 15 minutes.

From Genevieve's twitter account today:
"If you've e-queried Amy Berkower, we are caught up on queries thru March 11, 2021, and partials thru January 19, 2021. If you haven't received a response and your query/partial was sent prior to those dates, please reach out at ggagne at writershouse dot com."

PR: Sept 17th, 2020 - sent same day

On December 23rd 2020, Genevieve tweeted that Amy was caught up on partials through 10/30/20 and to reach out if I hadn't heard back. I emailed her the same day.

Jan 4th, 2021 Genevieve got back to me and let me know my partial slipped through the cracks. She asked me to resend it to her email. I sent it to her the same day and this time got personalized confirmation of my submission from her which said they'd read it and respond asap.

Feb 10, 2021 Genevieve tweeted again that Amy was caught up on partials, this time through Dec 20, 2020. I was honestly confused if my submission had been lost again so I reached out to Genevieve to make sure it wasn't. She got right back to me and said my new submission date was Jan 4th 2021 since I had to resend it. I wasn't aware that was the case and apologized for bothering her about it.

Rejected March 10 2021 with one paragraph of personalized feedback that reads as follows:

"This wasn’t an easy decision—you’re a good writer, and your two protagonists are very appealing. (FMC) in particular jumps off the page; in only a few beautifully staged “showing (as opposed to telling) scenes, you allow the reader to get to know her in a deep way, and we found ourselves rooting for her immediately. But as much as we enjoyed her and (MMC), we didn’t find the fantastic world they occupied to be distinctive enough—it felt like a generic fantasy world, and at the outset in particular, it didn’t have a lot of definition or unique features that would help us fall into the web of imagination you’re creating."

I'm disappointed but her praise about my work makes me think I definitely have a shot landing an agent elsewhere. I'm probably going to query other agents at this agency now. Can someone tell me if this is the usual feedback from Genevieve? After all the comments about her feedback, I was expecting a couple paragraphs or more detailed critiques. Is it because this was just a partial?

Sent full MS: Jan 2021 ( got delayed between holidays and covid)

New Adult Fantasy 117k words, request was very positive and kind. Amy’s assistant Genevieve is the one to read the MS. She did mention their timeline is more behind than usual because of the holiday closure they had and work backlog. Will update when I hear back again. She let me know too when she received it.

Her assistant Genevieve said on Twitter that Writer's House is closed for the holidays until January 4th! :) She's caught up on queries from 12/3 and partials through 10/30

EQ: October 29 - sent query, synopsis and first 20 pgs as per SiWC guidelines
ER: December 23 - despite receiving it 2 days before Christmas, that was the best rejection I've received so far. Genevieve was so thoughtful and had lots of very encouraging things to say. Her constructive criticism was very much based on personal taste so I'm not taking it too much to heart. Still helpful, though. One of her notes was a direct contradiction to a note I received from a different agent, so yeah...subjectivity is king in this business.
