Lovely response to Full (Upmarket)--but she's really looking for straight-up crime and thriller in fiction right now.

As in the comment below, they say not to inquire as to the status of your query until 4-6 weeks have passed, so I waited longer and sent a note via their contact form, but never heard back.

1/5/2017 Submitted literary crime fiction, using the agency's online submission form.
Submission was confirmed by the following pop-up message:
Thanks for contacting us! Unfortunately, in light of the high volume of submissions we receive, we cannot reply to all of them. Please allow 4-6 weeks before inquiring about the status of your query or submission, and please let us know if you receive an offer elsewhere in the meantime.

Chris, I tried the form as well and it did the same thing. So I decided to take the gamble and send an email query to her new email address at Aevitas as well (love the new name by the way!). Hope at least one doesn't get lost in the switch over.

not sure if the form worked- it vanished when i clicked send, but the info I'd typed popped back a minute later. might be worth waiting to see if the aevitas querying is different.

isinglass, she emailed me from both email addresses, the new and the old at Kuhn (not from ZSH). I suppose it wouldn't hurt to query again and say you heard she had a new email address. Kuhn and ZSH have merged and are now Aevitas.

I queried Nate Muscato at Kuhn and Jen Marshall at ZSH and never got a response from either. Were my queries lost, tossed? Should I requery one or both of them at Aevitas?

9/27/16: Queried Jen Marshall
Same day: Request for full with caveat that she was backed up
1/11 - Asked if I was still under consideration, if she needed more time
4 days later - Rejection so nice and personalized and complimentary it makes you kind of weep and wish you'd gotten a form reject instead :)
ALSO, this is her new email:
Since that email is very new, less chance of getting lost in slush....

jjadamson, yes they accept queries. That message has been up on their website for a long time and it has been a constant point of confusion.

"We regret that we cannot accept unsolicited submissions under any circumstances except for short queries sent by email." they accept email queries or not?
