"As you may have seen in the Bookseller, there have been some rather large changes afoot and as of Jan 2020 I’ll be jumping the fence to work as a commissioning editor for Orion."

Queried with fantasy MS but received an quick reply that he's not currently adding fantasy to his list. QT genres probably need updating to reflect this.

EQ 11/12/18 (Venom)--same day rejection (can't offer rep). He responded three minutes after I sent query--not sure if he read the sample chapters either. Same as below.

Rejection after 3 days as below.
Scifi 80,000 words. based on alien planet.

Many thanks for sending through your work. After consideration, I’m afraid I won’t be offering representation.

Unfortunately it’s impossible to give individual feedback on every project we receive, but there are a multitude of reasons any agent may pass on your work – similar projects on their list, current workload, can’t see the right route to market, industry feedback on market trends etc. Very few of them are that it is not ‘good’, though of course, as with all art, there is a subjective response to writing.

As an author in a fiercely competitive market, you need an agent who can be an absolute champion of you and your writing. Best of luck finding the right agent for your work.

Mr. Witcomb's interest in fantasy is limited. From his agency's site, his comments are: "I like my fantasy quite epic and despite a childhood obsession with Tolkien, would probably steer clear of elves, dragons & dwarfs. I do not like Urban Fantasy, or Steampunk. You won't convince me otherwise. Don't send me those things."
