Query, 9-10-20
Requested partial around 50 pages or so on 9-16-20

Today, CNR. But good anyway because I had to go through months with an editor that left me reconstructing the entire novel for over six months.

I was going to reach back out with the new 50 pages (completely different from what Jamie had) but given the time and the responses here, nevermind. Will leave at CNR.

Website says she accepts the following genres:

Contemporary Fiction—in the vein of Nicola Yoon (The Sun Is Also a Star), Sandhya Menon (When Dimple Met Rishi), Ashley Herring Blake (How to Make a Wish), and Brandy Colbert (Little & Lion)

Fantasy—think Audrey Coulthurst (Of Fire and Stars), Sabaa Tahir (Ember in the Ashes), Dhonielle Clayton (The Belles), and Libba Bray (The Gemma Doyle Trilogy)
Science Fiction—similar to Corinne Duyvis (On the Edge of Gone), Marie Lu (Warcross), and Cindy Pon (Want)

Historical Fiction/Fantasy— like Justina Ireland (Dread Nation) or written within the Tudor period (bonus if centered around Anne Boleyn) or Victorian period

Thriller—either with an unreliable narrator or in the vein of Kendare Blake (Anna Dressed in Blood)

Mystery—such as Maureen Johnson (Truly Devious) and Karen McManus (One of Us is Lying)

I want to second another comment—requesting during a pitch contest and responding months later with a form would probably dissuade me from querying this agent again.

ER: 3/2/21, form.

Not that I really wanted this agent (she seems to really only have one successful client) but liking my pitch and then taking four months for a form rejection is kind of a slap in the face. She seems to hang around pitch contests a lot too. Idk, but I wouldn't query this agent in the future.

Honestly forgot I queried her.

She liked my pitch during LatinxPitch on 9.15.20
Sent my query 9.19.20
Just heard back from her a few minute ago 3.2.21, it was a rejection.

Thankfully I was able to land an agent prior and honestly forgot about querying her that I didn't get to pull the manuscript. This is more of just a heads up for anybody who may have queried from a pitch contest who has yet to hear from her, I'm sure you will soon, hopefully with good news!
