Thanks, Catsamoa79! I hoped so too. I'm just wondering how long is too long to realistically expect a positive response. I don't want to be pushy and rush him if there's still a chance. He's actually my dream agent so I'm nervous about doing something stupid and blowing it.

Yorwick - I would email him before you query other agents. if he asked for an exclusive, he obviously saw some potential.

He requested the FULL 3/28/19 and asked for an exclusive.
I sent it in immediately and still haven't heard back (it's 5/13/19 today). Is this too long to wait, especially for an exclusive? Should I just assume he forgot about me and continue querying other agents?

I love these shorter rejections (though I'd love an offer, too)...more dignified than the long syrupy ones! Thanks HK.

Sorry, not for me.

Make your submission letter to the point and as brief as possible. We recommend including a short synopsis of your work, an author bio, and the first five pages of your manuscript (pasted into the body of your email, no attachments please).

EQ 4/18/18 50 pg Lit Fic 74K
ER 5/10/18

I’m afraid it’s still a pass. The writing just isn’t winning me over, but I trust another agent thinks otherwise.

This is a rewrite of a book I sent him over a year ago. So not a form rejection which makes it even more painful. Dream agent no more. :-(

Nathang, Ellen Levine is HUGE, I'm so, so happy for you. Oh, it's really inspiring to have some GOOD news in these comments for a change. I wish you the top success, and hope she places it VERY, VERY SOON! It's a terrific agency, you are in good hands!

(Yes, I've always found Harvey to be a (busy) gentleman but down to earth, no BS and that's always appreciated.)
