Initially had a very positive experience with her, but it ended up rather negative.

She responded to my first query within an hour, asking for the full. Was personal and very friendly and we exchanged several emails over the first day. I've queried dozens of agents and never encountered anyone this friendly.

It took nearly three months to hear back about the full manuscript, but she warned me this might happen. Again, she was very courteous and encouraging. Told me she loved the manuscript and thought she could sell it to a publisher as it was, but encouraged me to make a final set of revisions. I did.

Then sent them back to her. And waited.

And waited.

I sent a quick nudge. Finally she responded with "Sorry, still don't think this could be placed. Good luck."

And that's it.

In other words, I went from "this could be sold as is" to "sorry, still don't think I could place this."

Hey, I know agents are busy and overwhelmed and all that, but telling a writer that you could sell their work as it is then blowing them off with no explanation after they spend 2 months on a revision you asked for is cruel.

Responded personally that she loved 2/3 elements about the book, but the missing third element was enough of a problem that she didn't feel the manuscript was strong enough at this time. I asked if I could rewrite it and resubmit and she said yes, as well as answered some additional questions I had.

Hi SaraCo, even I sent my full the next day after #DVPit and so far have received no response. I am wondering whether to send a nudge or take it as a no. I was under the impression that agents always reply to a full, even if its to say its a pass.
