11/29 Technically I didn't send her a query, it was more of a thank you note to a discussion she had on her Twitter and also me saying how much I loved one of her promo posts (it was clever and cute!), and me inquiring on whether or not she's still actively looking for adult literary fiction since she seems to mostly only talk about YA and kidlit titles, so I wasn't sure if it was something that she was still actively interested in.

1/8 I honestly wasn't expecting a response, but she did! Said she'd love to see my work. Not having too high hopes for anything to come of this but still: definitely one of my favorite agents by far, so engaging, warm, funny, and kind!

So, we'll see.

3/20 Sent her my query and full, gave me confirmation within 20 minutes! She is truly sooo kind, sweet, and generous.

4/11 ER

A rejection, but the most personalized, helpful, encouraging, and sweetest one that made me so happy and even honored that I queried her. Basically and in short, she just isn't the right agent for my book (adult/commercial/literary fiction), but she connected and understood it entirely, and she sure had a way with words in describing how she felt about my work. Wendi is a class-act agent: smart, caring, kind, loving, and truly the most generous and sweet. And extremely approachable, my experience with her from beginning to end was so rewarding. She'll always leave an impression on me. Wendi is one of the best agents out there, any author would be so lucky to work with her!

FR 12/21! I'll let you know if she confirms receipt, c22lk.
No response as of my 1/8 deadline, and I signed with another agent, but she was super sweet and her colleagues speak highly of her. Good luck, everyone!

I got a full request from Wendi about a month ago. I didn't actually get an acknowledgement that she's received the attached file, and I was wondering if anyone else has had the same experience? Does she ever write back to let folks know that she's gotten the attached manuscript?

Thanks, MJIsseks, I gave up on her anyway. I already found a publisher, through a referral from another agent.

Submitted 80,000-word contemporary fiction in August, got an immediate "Can't wait to read it!" and danced on the ceiling. Nothing since. I nudged after she changed agencies, then resubmitted, then nudged again. Sigh.

I don't know how it works so I have resent my original query with a reminder of how she'd responded to it. Maybe not necessary, but ???
