Graywolf - I usually write a short note referring to my original query, then include the original query and sample material, if any, below that in the email. In the subject line I put something like "query status check" and the name of the manuscript.

Don't mark as a reject too soon - I won the Agent's Inbox contest, so I may have been fast tracked in her queue. And even if it is a reject, you'll probably get excellent feedback, and maybe even a chance to resubmit. Hoping for good things for you!

That's impressive, congratulations, she must see a lot of potential in your work if she's taking the time to call you and talk about changes. You're definitely on the right track.

Unfortunately for me, I think I should probably take this as a sign I have a rejection incoming. She asked for a full back in March, and if she's getting in touch with other people already about fulls submitted even later than that, it's a safe bet my story didn't engage her as much. Disappointing, but it happens.
