Very nice form rejection, slightly customized with the following: "You are a strong writer, however, I'm usually not the best fit for high fantasy projects."

Upmarket YA 50k
Got an R&R request from a different agent on Friday April 2nd.
After chat with agent, messaged Dorian because the revisions would be significant within the first 50 pages, which is her cold query sample, and because the R&R is non-exclusive, meaning we can share the revision.
She replied quickly with a friendly message asking us to withdraw and resubmit when ready - well worth it when it sets us back about a month at most and Dorian is a prompt responder for the most part.
Thought I'd note this as R&Rs are a strange beast and people seem curious about how they go.

"Please know I carefully considered your project, but I don't feel I can offer representation at this time. The marketplace is more selective than ever and I must keep a modest list.
I absolutely loved the premise of this, however, I felt a bit remote from what was happening in the story. This is completely subjective, so don't give up! Nevertheless, I wish you every success"
3/11/2021 Very kind rejection letter
"Thank you for your query. Please know I carefully considered your project, but I don’t feel I can offer representation at this time. The marketplace is more selective than ever and I must keep a modest list.
The premise is intriguing, however, the story didn't capture my heart in all the ways I had hoped. Nevertheless, I wish you every success with [title]! Don't give up!
Keep going with it, there are numerous agents out there that may be a good fit. I wish you the best of luck!"
3/11/2021 kind but mostly form rejection.
Thank you so much for your patience--sometimes the better ones take the longest. Please know I carefully considered your project, but I don’t feel I can offer representation at this time. The marketplace is more selective than ever and I must keep a modest list.
I'm so happy I got the opportunity to take a look at your work--this is quite an accomplished manuscript. While I feel you are a strong writer, I didn't fall head over heels in love with the story. I was hoping to find myself gripped to the pages a bit more, so please know my passing is quite subjective. I have no doubt you will find a wonderful home for this, so don't give up! Nevertheless, I wish you every success with [Title]!

You are a strong writer, however, I don't feel I have a clear editorial vision for the project. Nevertheless, I wish you every success! Don't give up!
