"Thank you for your query. Please know I carefully considered your project, but I don’t feel I can offer representation at this time. The marketplace is more selective than ever and I must keep a modest list.

This was definitely a unique take on this genre and your query grabbed my attention. However, I'm looking for a bit more crossover appeal when it comes to YA. Nevertheless, I wish you every success with (_)!

Keep going with it, there are numerous agents out there that may be a good fit. I wish you the best of luck!"

If it's a form, it's a very nice form, and I appreciate it :)

@newsomeam

DO NOT feel bad. I know why you did not receive a highly pleasing personalized response. You can see that those answers were given to #Pitrequest submissions, which is like a contest. Usually, nice and personalized answers are coming from this kind of thing because there is a preference for them.
It does not mean that your manuscript is not as good as others or more excellent than the others.

Good luck!

You have a good story here, however, I don't feel I'd be the best agent to make this stand out on the current market. Nevertheless, I wish you every success with [story name]!

Keep going with it, there are numerous agents out there that may be a good fit. I wish you the best of luck!

Warmly,
Dorian"

I think it's a form rejection, but I'm not totally sure. Everyone else says hers is the nicest rejection they've ever gotten, but to me it feels about as nice as most other form rejections.

This was the first personalized rejection I've received and it was nice of her to take the time to explain why my project didn't work for her.

"This was one of my favorite pitches from yesterday—you have quite an intriguing premise! "

Nicest feedback I've gotten so far. First non form rejection, so I'll take it as a win.
